Arts

Friends of Cooper Island has access to almost 50 years of data on a changing Arctic. We’ve partnered with expeditionary artist Maria Coryell-Martin, who visited Cooper Island in 2019, to share art she created and to inspire the public about Arctic climate change. We have some selects from her work both on the island and back in her studio. You can see the remainder of her work, including the Witnessing Climate Change Book that showcases all her watercolor art inspired by her stay on Cooper Island, by visiting her Expeditionary Art website.
